UK buyers are one of the most important groups for international property sales. We are constantly striving to offer them the widest range of attractive investments, both from a lifestyle and financial point of view.
We are currently experiencing a surge of enquiries from customers looking outside of for investments as the UK property market has plateaued -UK house prices have soared by 85% since 1996 and recent reports have stated that house process are now falling on average by 0.4 % a month (Dec 04).
The current UK investment market is characterised by three phenomena;
High UK house prices mean that many people have substantial equity available to them
Interest rates remain low and are not expected to increase significantly in the short to medium term making borrowing affordable
The UK property boom has peaked and with little growth potential in the short term, investors are looking elsewhere to generate returns
These phenomena are combining to dramatically increase the numbers of people purchasing property abroad. In particular, emerging markets are benefiting from this climate as investors look to attain returns similar to those they experienced in the UK’s own property boom. Emerging markets are also popular as there is more opportunity to purchase a second property outright with re-mortgaged equity, reducing the need for further borrowing to finance the purchase.
Recent figures show that around 112,000 Brits will purchase property in emerging markets during 2004.
