Should You Invest?

Trinidad and Tobago's property market is currently seeing a rise in foreign investment and a significant increase in the islands' tourism sector. Although the buy-to-let market in Trinidad and Tobago is good there are high transaction costs when purchasing a property and high income tax. The government has set out plans to develop both islands with a focus on Trinidad.

  • Trinidad and Tobago have a stable economy and continues to show good economic growth.
  • The government is developing the country and results show improved infrastructure.
  • The labour force on both islands is very well trained and educated.
  • The tourist industry on both islands continues to grow.
  • Tobago is currently showing high rental yields.
  • Villa prices in tourist areas have doubled over the past decade.

House prices and monthly rents are generally higher in Tobago than they are in Trinidad.


Price History

There is little solid price history to be found but prices for some land and properties have doubled within a year, and prices are continuing to escalate at a rapid rate.
