Forget planes, trains and automobiles, we’re swimming, cycling and running to get to Zambia

Only a month since our last Frontiers Foundation fundraising event (Richmond Half Marathon), the dedicated Property Frontiers team are gearing up for their next challenge, the Blenheim Triathlon.
Held this coming weekend, the 9th and 10th June in the grounds of the stunning Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, this will be the first triathlon that Niamh Sugrue, Stuart Cowie and Charlotte Ashton have undertaken. The team will be undertaking the sprint relay challenge with Niamh swimming 750m in open water, Stuart cycling 20km and Charlotte running 5km.
Raising money for the Frontiers Foundation and their first project, the Ngwezi B Water for Life project, the team will be raising vital funds to enable a borehole to be drilled and fresh, clean and free water to be supplied to the Mazabuka village in south west Zambia.
Property Frontiers has partnered with PEPAIDS, the on the ground charity in Zambia, to deliver this high impact project with flights now booked (at our own personal expense) for myself and Charlotte Ashton, fellow Frontiers Foundation Trustee, to go out to Zambia and assist in digging the borehole later this month.
In the spirit of the Frontiers Foundation, Charlotte and I will be getting truly hands on by digging and loading sand, mixing concrete by hand, breaking up rocks with hand tools, softening the earth and laying bricks. In addition to this, we will also be visiting other local PEPAIDS health and community projects and meeting the people of Mazabuka including the famous peer educator, George Malambo, whose herb garden will directly benefit from the new water supply.
Through our fundraising activities to date we have almost reached our target of £5,000 but we’re not quite there yet!
If you would like to show your support then you can donate in a number of new way via PEPAIDS such as Just Giving, Global Giving and Just Giving Text. CLICK HERE to find out how to donate.
With less than a week to go, Niamh, Stuart and Charlotte are training hard and we’ll bring you an update on their performance after the event.
