Zablocie Mills – Construction Update

June 4, 2009Article by Ray Withers

It is always nice to read updates and see photos of how the various projects one may of invested in our progressing. Although, many of these projects may still be at the preliminary stages and whilst it is great to see the ground being prepared or construction workers on site, when the project is in the final stages is when the excitement and imagination levels really start to build. So, today we are lucky enough to have some photos of a project we sold in Krakow, Poland. Zablocie Mills is nearing completion and the developers have done a fantastic job in retaining the character of the old mill whilst bringing the building firmly into the 21st century.

We have the following update from the developers as well.

“Due to additional construction work necessary (mainly in the structural integrity of the Old Mill) there has been a small delay in the build schedule. We have also experienced complications of a bureaucratic nature related to obtaining some of the building permits required in the build process to date. The building will be completed in late August, early September but it is expected there may be some delay in obtaining the final occupational use permit and so the completion date maybe postponed no later than December 2009.

Most construction works are now completed. Electrical, water and ventilation systems have been installed in most parts of the building. The finishing works in the communal area in progress including staircase, corridors, halls and the Sedam grass terrace on the roof. The facade works are due to start this week.

The show loft is now complete with quality solid oak floors, exposed brick walls, original timber beams, bespoke window joinery, Atlas kitchen units, Siemens appliances and bathroom. The show loft will be furnished with locally sourced contemporary designer furniture firm (Iker) once the hall and corridor works are finalised.

We have introduced upgrades to the standard of finish to improve the quality (stainless steel for inside railings, resin flooring instead of polished concrete) in communal areas along with revisions and further attention to detail in architectural specification.”
