April 15, 2016Article by Charlotte Ashton
It was all things Ugandan last night for the Property Frontiers team, from the Uganda House venue in Central London to the Ugandan property investment seminar, the authentic Ugandan refreshments and the insightful opening address from the Ugandan High Commissioner herself, Prof. Joyce Kikafunda.
Over 40 Property Frontiers’ clients, potential investors, Ugandan nationals and officials came together last night at the Ugandan Embassy in Trafalgar Square to discover the merits of investing in this last frontier market.
The Ugandan High Commissioner, Prof. Joyce Kikafunda, gave the opening address, sharing her thoughts on why her home nation is such an attractive destination to invest in at the present time.
Discussing the progress that Uganda has made in recent decades in terms of economic growth, political stability and infrastructure as well as dispelling myths held about the nation, known as “The Pearl of Africa”, Prof. Kikafunda delivered a passionate and engaging speech to the attentive audience.
The High Commissioner was followed by Ray Withers, CEO of Property Frontiers, hosts of last night’s exclusive seminar. He shared his passion for both Africa and emerging markets such as Uganda before handing over the stage to Sales Director, Marcus Vassiliou who presented the exciting residential investment opportunity, Jakana Heights.
The developer of Jakana Heights, located in the highly desirable Konge Hill area, south east of the capital city Kampala, ProAfCo was also in attendance. CEO Clive Kefford introduced his expert team in Uganda to the audience as well as providing updates on construction progress and the groundbreaking event at which the Ugandan Prime Minister himself attended back in December 2015.
After the succinct presentation, the attendees talked informally with members of the Property Frontiers team, Clive Kefford and the High Commissioner whilst enjoying traditional Ugandan cuisines including matoke (cooked plantain), spinach and mushroom stew, samosas, dried fish and mandazi (sweet doughnuts) for dessert.
Ray Withers concludes,
“Last night’s Ugandan Property Investment Seminar was a huge success. I would like to thank the Ugandan Embassy for their assistance and support in hosting this event and to the High Commissioner for her attendance and address.
“I personally found it to be an interesting, educational and enjoyable event and it was wonderful to meet with so many of our clients who share our passion for African investment.”
