Madeira Resort Inquiries Up 300% For Property Frontiers

July 30, 2009Article by Ray Withers

MADEIRA, PORTUGAL: July 31, 2009 – Inquiries for properties for a new five-star development property in Madeira, Portugal, are up 300% from last month after a spectacular May launch, according to real estate consultants Property Frontiers. The Azulara resort, Funchal, Madeira, has a range of apartments and villas with breathtaking views over Funchal and the ocean, and is a trendy new development with a top quality architect designed finish.

The one to four-bed properties cost from £222,000. Upmarket four-bedroom villas with a pool fringing a golf course estate come with a £1 million price tag. Each property comes with an en-suite bathroom. The two and three beds also come with their own private veranda.

“This development only went on the market in May and by the end of June, inquiries were up 300%,” said Property Frontiers director David Cox. “This is already by far the project that has attracted the most inquiries in 2009.

“According to official government figures, occupancy rates for five star apartments on Madeira averaged 91% last year. This combined with the exceptional discounted price we have negotiated is the reason that we feel Azulara will provide our clients with a fantastic return on their investment.”

British expats have always had a soft-spot for Madeira due to the all year round sunshine and balmy temperatures that once attracted many retirees but is now a magnet for younger couples looking for a second holiday home within easy reach of the UK. The final resort plan for Azulara is for 112 apartments and 61 villas, with all the services a discerning buyer would expect from a five star luxury resort, including a spa, gym, swimming pools, golf and an exclusive members club.

The capital of Madeira, Funchal is a city steeped in history and culture. Located on the south side of the island the unique position acts as an amphitheatre to the city, beginning at the harbour and rising almost 1200 metres up gentle slopes.
