The Hidden Wonder Of Madeira
November 13, 2009Article by Ray Withers
Madeira is one of the top 5 places in the world to buy overseas property for investment or as a lifestyle choice. That is according to international property investment consultancy Property Frontiers.
Ben Jeffries, a sourcing manager with the firm said:
“If you asked me to name my top 5 destinations to buy overseas property, for investment or lifestyle choice, Madeira would be in there every time, and there isn’t many places that make both my lists.
“For a start it is not over-hyped, in fact it is probably one of the least publicised property markets in the world. So, while Madeira property prices have grown strongly in the last few years, this has been as a result of solid and reliable demand from lifestyle buyers and responsible investors. Thus there hasn’t been the same bubble caused by droves of speculative investors that we saw in the likes of Spain.”
Property Frontiers are currently marketing a Madeira property offering 5 star 1 bedroom apartments on Funchal, the largest island for just £192,000. The Azulara resort development represents the pinnacle of modern design and luxury. The 180 degree views of the ocean afforded because of the way the development has been built are certainly among its finest points.
“Azulara is one of my favourite properties, and maybe that is part of the reason why I am always raving about Madeira — mind the ambient year-round warm climate, gorgeous beaches and breathtaking landscapes seem to be what I most talk about,” said Jeffries.
“I mean look at it, set into one of those breathtaking Madeira hillsides on the coast rising up away from the beach, with huge windows, plush fittings, en-suite bedrooms, and every other mod-con imaginable, if you are not blown away I would ask the doctor to reduce your medication,” he added.
The en-suite bedrooms are in the 2 and 3 bedroom units, which are priced at £247k and £357k respectively. The two and three bedroom units also have their own private veranda, offering a more impressive way to view the 180 degree views of the ocean.
